What To Expect...
When you arrive at the Belfast United Methodist Church you will be greeted by someone who will be glad to see you but won't pounce on you! Our church is a friendly place where families visit on a regular basis. We would love to have you come and check us out. We think, when you do, you'll agree with us that this is a place where God is present and active and lives are being transformed!
Here's a little more about what you'll experience if you visit one of our worship services...
The Belfast United Methodist Church believes that worship in the context of the Christian community is a vital and necessary part of our journey as children of God. We take worship very seriously and endeavor to provide in worship an opportunity to experience God in a life-transforming way.
We believe that the preaching of God's Word is the primary instrument whereby transformation occurs in worship and endeavor to provide applicable biblical messages that inspire, encourage, challenge, and convict every week.
We also believe that celebration of the Lord's Supper ought not to occur only four times a year or even once a month. The early church celebrated it several times a week and throughout its history the church has held that it is an important part of regular worship. Beginning this Fall we will move to a weekly celebration of Holy Communion as a part of our worship services. Our communion table is open to all who love
Jesus Christ, who repent of their sins, and who seek to live in peace
with their brothers and sisters. You need not be a member of our
congregation to participate in communion.
Our worship service begins at 10:50am and features a combination of contemporary music and ancient hymns of the faith. Our choir shares twice a month and is open to anyone interested in singing. If you're interested in singing in the choir please email the choir director.
We welcome children as a part of our worship services and encourage parents to enjoy worship with their children. However, child care is provided if you need it during the service for your family's convenience.
If you are interested in participating in worship either as a greeeter, usher, communion server, by providing the elements for communion, by providing special music, or in another way please email the church office or call 365-2529.
We hope to see you in worship on Sunday at 10:50am.
